Abstract
The histologic patterns of the various germ cell tumors of the testis are reviewed and these tumors have been defined and classified according to the World Health Organization criteria. The importance of obtaining adequate sections of the primary and metastatic tumors is stressed and more extensive use of the World Health Organization classification of testicular tumors is encouraged so that meaningful comparisons may be made between different centers treating these patients.
