Airborne pollen is an important source of allergens in a number of allergic diseases. Data on the concentrations of pollen at different heights in the air are scarce. The aim of the present study was to investigate different types and numbers of airborne pollen and their seasonal variation at different heights in the urban area of Shenzhen (China) and their associations with meteorological factors.
The concentration of airborne pollen at different heights was monitored with Burkard traps from July 1, 2006, to June 30, 2007, in Shenzhen; the results were analyzed with SAS 9.13 software.
In total, 1,095 films (at 3 heights, 365 films at each height) were exposed throughout the year, and 48 families and 85 genera of pollen taxa were identified. The total pollen count was 55,830 grains (25,204 grains at 1.5 m; 16,218 grains at 35 m, and 14,408 grains at 70 m); pollen grains were present in the atmosphere throughout the year, with two peaks of airborne pollen: one peak in February to April and the other in September to November.
On the basis of our local investigations, the pollen concentrations and the pollen types in the air decrease gradually with increasing height. The distribution and concentrations of airborne pollen at different heights in the atmosphere were influenced by composite factors such as the season and meteorological factors.
空气中的花粉是许多过敏性疾病过敏原的重要来源。有关空气中不同高度花粉浓度的数据较为缺乏。本研究的目的是调查深圳市(中国)城区不同高度空气中的花粉种类和数量及其季节性变化,以及它们与气象因素的关系。
2006 年 7 月 1 日至 2007 年 6 月 30 日,采用 Burkard 诱捕器在深圳市不同高度监测空气中的花粉浓度;使用 SAS 9.13 软件分析结果。
全年共曝光 1095 张胶片(3 个高度,每个高度 365 张),鉴定出 48 科 85 属花粉类群。总花粉数为 55830 粒(1.5 m 处 25204 粒,35 m 处 16218 粒,70 m 处 14408 粒);全年空气中都有花粉存在,有两个花粉高峰期:2 月至 4 月和 9 月至 11 月。
根据我们的本地调查,空气中花粉的浓度和种类随高度的增加逐渐降低。大气中不同高度的空气传播花粉的分布和浓度受季节和气象因素等综合因素的影响。
