Anterior uveitis in a patient with scleroderma: a case report.

Uveitis has been associated with multiple autoimmune conditions. Scleroderma, a connective tissue disease,is rarelyreported in association with inflammatory eye disease in adults. The authors present a case of a 48-year-old Asian male with systemic sclerosis who developed bilateral anterior uveitis. Clinical testing and investigation could not identify an underlying etiology other than systemic sclerosis.Ocular manifestations seen in association with scleroderma include eyelid skin changes, keratoconjunctivitis sicca, and retinal microvascular abnormalities.Only a small number of cases of uveitis have been reported in association with scleroderma.
