Preceptorship. One step beyond.

Preceptorship is a popular approach to orienting new Registered Nurse (RN) staff to their patient care responsibilities. Since 1982, preceptors have been trained to function in this expanded role. An Advanced Preceptor Workshop was developed based on the needs of experienced preceptors. Because many staff development educators are involved with similar preceptorship programs, this article will benefit them.
