Chronic treatment by deoxycorticosterone acetate (DOCA) is mainly responsible for an increase in uridine incorporation within cells of the cortical and medullary collecting tubules, reflecting an induction of RNA synthesis in segments considered as target sites for corticosteroid hormones.
