To assess the association of polymorphisms of PR domain containing 16 gene (PRDM16) with essential hypertension in ethnic Uygur population from Xinjiang, China.
Functional regions of the PRDM16 gene were sequenced in 48 Uygur subjects with essential hypertension selected from 480 hypertensive patients and 819 normotensive controls. Representative variations were genotyped with TaqMan-PCR method. Association of variations of PRDM16 gene with hypertension was analyzed.
For the 4 genotyped representative variations (rs2236518, rs2282198, rs2493292 and rs870171), no significant difference in genotype distribution and allele frequencies has been found between the patient and control groups (P>0.05). By ANOVA analysis, none of the polymorphisms was significantly associated with systolic or diastolic blood pressure (P>0.05). Nor was significant difference in haplotypic frequencies between the two groups detected (P>0.05).
We have found no association between the four polymorphisms (rs2236518, rs2282198, rs2493292 and rs870171) of the PRDM16 gene with essential hypertension in ethnic Uygur population from Xinjiang.
评估含PR结构域蛋白16基因(PRDM16)多态性与中国新疆维吾尔族人群原发性高血压的相关性。
对从480例高血压患者和819例血压正常对照中选取的48例维吾尔族原发性高血压患者的PRDM16基因功能区进行测序。采用TaqMan-PCR方法对代表性变异进行基因分型。分析PRDM16基因变异与高血压的相关性。
对于4个基因分型的代表性变异(rs2236518、rs2282198、rs2493292和rs870171),患者组和对照组之间在基因型分布和等位基因频率上未发现显著差异(P>0.05)。通过方差分析,没有一个多态性与收缩压或舒张压显著相关(P>0.05)。两组之间的单倍型频率也未检测到显著差异(P>0.05)。
我们发现PRDM16基因的四个多态性(rs2236518、rs2282198、rs2493292和rs870171)与新疆维吾尔族人群原发性高血压之间无关联。
