Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To assess the gender differences in correlation lipoprotein(a) concentration with the extent of coronary artery disease in patients with established coronary artery disease.

PATIENTS AND METHODS

Blood lipids and lipoprotein(a) concentrations were measured in 351 consecutive patients (256 men and 95 women) who underwent coronary angiography between January and May 2010, and who had established coronary atherosclerosis (angiography score >1). A modified angiographic Gensini Score was used.

RESULTS

Mean angiographic score was 19.6 in men and 15.0 in women. Men had lower mean high-density lipoprotein cholesterol level than women (1.05 vs. 1.18 mmol/l) and lower mean apolipoprotein A level (1.41 vs. 1.53 g/l). Mean lipoprotein(a) level was higher in men than women (307.1 vs. 282.7 mg/l). Significant inverse correlation between high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and apoA with angiographic score was identified in women (r = -0.23, p = 0.028 and r = -0.26, p = 0.025), but not in men. Lipoprotein(a) level correlated significantly with angiographic score only in men (r = 0.168, p = 0.0185).

CONCLUSIONS

Gender differences were identified in patients with established coronary atherosclerosis in the relation of blood lipids and lipoprotein(a) levels with the extent of coronary artery disease.

评估已确诊冠心病患者中脂蛋白(a)浓度与冠状动脉疾病程度之间的性别差异。

患者与方法

对2010年1月至5月间连续351例接受冠状动脉造影且已确诊冠状动脉粥样硬化(血管造影评分>1)的患者(256例男性和95例女性)进行血脂和脂蛋白(a)浓度测定。采用改良的血管造影Gensini评分。

结果

男性平均血管造影评分为19.6,女性为15.0。男性的平均高密度脂蛋白胆固醇水平低于女性(1.05对1.18 mmol/l),平均载脂蛋白A水平也较低(1.41对1.53 g/l)。男性的平均脂蛋白(a)水平高于女性(307.1对282.7 mg/l)。在女性中,高密度脂蛋白胆固醇和载脂蛋白A与血管造影评分之间存在显著负相关(r = -0.23,p = 0.028;r = -0.26,p = 0.025),而在男性中未发现。仅在男性中,脂蛋白(a)水平与血管造影评分显著相关(r = 0.168,p = 0.0185)。
