A depressive disorder is an illness that involves the body, mood, thoughts and behaviors. This study was performed to identify the presence of depression among medical students of Urmia University of Medical Sciences.
A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 700 undergraduate medical and basic sciences students. Beck depression inventory (BDI) used for data gathering.
Mean score of BDI was 10.4 ± 0.8 and 52.6% of students scored under the depression threshold. Four of them had severe depression. RESULTS showed no significant relationship between depression and age, education, sex, rank of birth or duration of education.
Prevalence of depression that can affect the students' quality of education and social behavior was high in Urmia University of Medical Sciences.
抑郁症是一种涉及身体、情绪、思维和行为的疾病。本研究旨在确定乌尔米亚医科大学的医学生中是否存在抑郁症。
对700名医学和基础科学专业的本科学生进行了描述性横断面研究。采用贝克抑郁量表(BDI)收集数据。
BDI的平均得分为10.4±0.8,52.6%的学生得分低于抑郁阈值。其中4人患有重度抑郁症。结果显示,抑郁症与年龄、教育程度、性别、出生顺序或受教育时长之间无显著关系。
在乌尔米亚医科大学,可影响学生教育质量和社交行为的抑郁症患病率较高。
