Abstract

Natural inhibitor of physiological interferon synthesis (IS-IFN) was tested for its effect on IFN production in various cells isolated from mice. The inhibitor was shown to suppress interferon synthesis in peritoneal cells and partially in bone marrow cells, however, not affecting the level of IFN produced in fibroblasts and leukocytes of peripheral blood. Moreover, peritoneal cells isolated from mice of various inbred lines (Balb/c) NZB and DBA (2) exhibited different sensitivity to the inhibitor effect. The least sensitive appeared cells from NZB mice.
