Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To explore the role of marginal division of the human brain in the pain modulation.

METHODS

Resting functional magnetic resonance imaging was applied in a patient with right extremities pain caused by a malacia lesion in the left putamen and in 8 healthy volunteers. Marginal division was defined using manual drawing on structure images, and was applied to the computation of fuctional connectivity maps.

RESULTS

The functional connectivities in the left marginal division showed an evident decrease in the patient when compared with healthy controls. These connectivities were mainly located in the bilateral head of caudate nucleus, putamen, and left globus pallidus.

CONCLUSION

The marginal division may be involved in the pain modulation.

目的

探讨人脑边缘叶在疼痛调制中的作用。

方法

对1例因左侧壳核软化灶导致右上肢疼痛的患者及8名健康志愿者进行静息态功能磁共振成像检查。在结构图像上通过手动绘制来定义边缘叶,并将其应用于功能连接图的计算。

结果

与健康对照相比,患者左侧边缘叶的功能连接明显降低。这些连接主要位于双侧尾状核头部、壳核及左侧苍白球。

结论

边缘叶可能参与疼痛调制。
