Electroencephalographic sleep changes were studied in seven young male cyclists who were given a high carbohydrate diet after a high protein and fat isocaloric diet, during six days. high carbohydrate diet was associated with significantly more slow wave sleep, while significantly more rapid eye movement sleep was found after consuming a high protein fat diet.
