Method of computer-aided ECG diagnosis allows for the rapid interpretation of a high number of tracks and access to a significant amount of information within a minimal time. There has been developed a system for computerized ECG analysis, operating upon the recordings performed within the 12 scaling derivations--getting to a preprocessing of the signals, analog-digital conversion, detection of waveforms and application of some current diagnostic criteria. Performances of the system tested on 800 ECG tracks have been estimated so far at 98% correct diagnoses (p less than 0.05) for normal and pathological cases, the integral interpretation taking 50-55 seconds. The investigation aims at turning the program into an expertise system equalling the effectiveness and competence of human specialist.
