We report three cases of malaria by Plasmodium falciparum in travelers to West Africa, who had correctly followed, without interruption until the time of diagnosis, the prophylactic regimen that had been prescribed to them (chloroquine base 5 mg/week and pyrimethamine 50 mg/week). We point to the need to have, in Spain, a pharmacopeia which adequately covers the needs of travelers to tropical countries according to experience and international regulations, and also to have adequate health information available to international travelers.
我们报告了三例前往西非的旅行者感染恶性疟原虫疟疾的病例，这些旅行者在确诊前一直正确且不间断地遵循为他们开的预防方案（碱式氯喹5毫克/周和乙胺嘧啶50毫克/周）。我们指出，根据经验和国际法规，西班牙需要有一部能充分满足前往热带国家旅行者需求的药典，同时也需要为国际旅行者提供充足的健康信息。
