In the present paper the clinical value of scrotal ultrasonography is evaluated on the basis of a literature review and own results of 400 sonographic examinations in 320 patients. The frequency of false-positive findings was only 5% representing a high sensitivity of this method. However, the specificity of ultrasonography is lower since a distinction between benign and malignant lesions is impossible. Scrotal ultrasonography is of particular value in vague palpatory findings and should be used more generous.
在本文中，基于文献综述以及对320例患者进行的400次超声检查的自身结果，对阴囊超声检查的临床价值进行了评估。假阳性结果的发生率仅为5%，表明该方法具有较高的敏感性。然而，超声检查的特异性较低，因为无法区分良性和恶性病变。阴囊超声检查在触诊结果不明确的情况下具有特殊价值，应更广泛地应用。
