OBJECTIVE
The aim of the study was to compare the treatment effects of 5% amlexanox and low-level laser therapy (LLLT) in a cohort of patients who experienced minor aphthous stomatitis.
STUDY DESIGN
A clinical trial was performed between 2012 and 2014 on 50 participants having minor aphthous ulcers. Group A participants were treated with amlexanox oral paste (lexanox 5% oral paste), and group B participants were treated with LLLT. Pain scores and sizes of ulcers were measured on the first, third, and seventh days of treatment in both groups. Data were analyzed using paired t test and independent t test.
RESULTS
No significant difference was observed between the two groups with respect to pain level on the first and seventh days of treatment.
CONCLUSIONS
Both amlexanox and LLLT were equally effective in relieving pain associated with minor aphthous stomatitis. Both groups showed significant reduction in ulcer sizes and in pain scores.

结果

结论
