Fluoride profiles (period of estimation 24 hours) after oral intake of 6 different preparations were made in human plasma and parotid saliva. It was shown that the fluoride concentration was highest when NaF was administered. Concentration returned to normal after about 8 hours. The values in parotid saliva were slightly lower than in plasma. Both profiles ran approximately parallel. A pre-eruptive, caries-prophylactic action can here be expected where bio-availability is especially favourable.
