Laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy for pancreatic cancer can be a challenging procedure that requires adherence to surgical principles respecting tissue planes and critical vascular structures to obtain the optimal surgical margins and peripancreatic node harvest, while minimizing damage to surrounding structures. This report provides a basic approach with some tips and tricks based on my experience with this procedure.
