[Effect of concomitant pathology and radiation treatment on the immunity indices of patients with laryngeal cancer].

Humoral and cell-mediated immunity in laryngeal cancer patients was evaluated versus presence of concomitant pathology and previous irradiation. The actual T-lymphocyte level in the study group was shown to exceed that measured by reaction of spontaneous rosette formation using sheep erythrocytes. Concomitant pathology appeared to impair immune status. Distant gamma irradiation suppressed cell-mediated immunity boosting the humoral one. In vitro incubation of peripheral blood lymphocytes with levamisole and theophylline proved superior in immune status evaluation.
