OBJECTIVE
To raise awareness of the existence of cryptococcal infections in HIV/AIDS patients in Ghana.
METHOD
Detailed postmortem gross and histopathological analysis of an HIV/AIDS patient suspected to have cryptococcal meningitis was carried out and histopathological findings correlated with clinical findings.
RESULTS
showed disseminated Cryptococcosis in an HIV/AIDS patient which was confirmed with special stains.
CONCLUSION
cryptococcal infection occurs in HIV /AIDS patients in Ghanaian and when clinically suspected the diagnosis should be pursued vigorously.
目的
提高对加纳艾滋病患者中隐球菌感染存在情况的认识。
方法
对一名疑似患有隐球菌性脑膜炎的艾滋病患者进行详细的尸检大体和组织病理学分析，并将组织病理学结果与临床结果相关联。
结果
显示一名艾滋病患者存在播散性隐球菌病，经特殊染色得以证实。
结论
加纳的艾滋病患者会发生隐球菌感染，当临床上怀疑有感染时，应积极进行诊断。
