Osteoarthritis is the most degenerative joint disease. The aim was to investigate the effects of ultrasound using mineral water or aqua sonic gel on severity of knee pain, measured by the visual analog scale and the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index (WOMAC).
Thirty women with bilateral osteoarthritis of the knee were assigned to two groups: ultrasound with mineral water (group 1, n = 15) or with aqua sonic gel (group 2, n = 15). Both groups underwent 4 weeks intervention, three per week. The participants were assessed using the visual analog scale and the WOMAC. Tests were performed before and after interventions.
Both groups had significantly reduced pain and improved WOMAC compared with preintervention values.
The ultrasound with mineral water group had more pronounced improvement at p-value < 0.001.
Ultrasound with mineral water is preferable in treatment of knee OA.

30名双侧膝关节骨关节炎女性被分为两组:使用矿泉水进行超声治疗的组1(n = 15)和使用水基超声凝胶进行超声治疗的组2(n = 15)。两组均接受为期4周的干预,每周3次。使用视觉模拟评分法和WOMAC对参与者进行评估。在干预前后进行测试。
与干预前相比,两组的疼痛均显著减轻,WOMAC评分均有所改善。
在p值<0.001时,使用矿泉水进行超声治疗的组改善更为明显。
在治疗膝关节骨关节炎方面,使用矿泉水进行超声治疗更为可取。
