Abstract

Medicinal plants have been a main source of therapeutic agents from ancient time to cure diseases. () is one of the most accepted and beneficial medicinal plants in indigenous system of medicine for the treatment of various critical diseases. This comprehensive review provides various aspects of its ethnomedical, phytochemical, pharmacognostical, pharmacological and clinical significance to different diseases particularly in cardiovascular conditions. This plant has a good safety outline when used in combination with other conventional drugs. This review highlights various medicinal properties of through different studies such as antioxidant, hypotensive, anti-atherogenic, anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, anti-mutagenic and gastro-productive effect.

药用植物自古以来就是治疗疾病的主要治疗剂来源。()是传统医学体系中治疗各种重症最受认可且有益的药用植物之一。这篇综述全面阐述了其在民族医学、植物化学、生药学、药理学以及对不同疾病尤其是心血管疾病的临床意义等各个方面。该植物与其他传统药物联合使用时安全性良好。这篇综述通过抗氧化、降压、抗动脉粥样硬化、抗炎、抗癌、抗诱变及促胃肠动力等不同研究突出了()的多种药用特性。
