The results of the treatment of erectile failure with intracavernous injections are reviewed in a retrospective study after 2 1/2 years of experience. It is discussed that, whenever possible, patients should perform self-injections at home. Thus, 20% of our patients regained potency after a few self-injections. Another 40% practised self-injections as long-term treatment.
