Child-maltreatment or accidental poisoning with Isopropanol? A 2 1/2 year-old child was treated for scalding three weeks before an intoxication with isopropanol. During the clinical investigation in connection with the intoxication many hemorrhages of different ages were found. The massive intoxication with isopropanol could be controlled successfully by intensive medical treatment. Because of the circumstances and the method of administration of the isopropanol, the possibility of a rare form of child maltreatment is discussed.
