Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the serotypes and antimicrobial susceptibility of spp. in Isfahan, (Iran) from 2010 to 2015. This retrospective study was conducted on isolates in four tertiary care hospitals. The process of bacterial isolation and determination of susceptibility was performed by standard microbiological guidelines. The patients were categorized into three age groups of under 5, 5-15 and over 15 years. Among 45 isolates, (63.6%) was the predominant species, followed by (34.1%), and (2.3%). Substantial resistance to ampicillin, trimethoprim- sulfamethoxazole, ceftriaxone, cefotaxime, and cefixime was observed. Over 94% of the isolates were sensitive to ciprofloxacin. Susceptibility of isolates was similar between all age groups. Significant resistance to third generation cephalosporins precludes the use of these agents for empirical treatment of shigellosis in our population. Ciprofloxacin is an appropriate option; however, susceptibility tests should be performed before prescription.

本研究旨在确定2010年至2015年期间伊朗伊斯法罕地区志贺氏菌属的血清型及抗菌药敏情况。本回顾性研究在四家三级护理医院的志贺氏菌分离株上开展。细菌分离及药敏测定过程按照标准微生物学指南进行。患者被分为5岁以下、5至15岁和15岁以上三个年龄组。在45株分离株中,宋内志贺氏菌(63.6%)为主要菌种,其次是福氏志贺氏菌(34.1%)和鲍氏志贺氏菌(2.3%)。观察到对氨苄西林、甲氧苄啶 - 磺胺甲恶唑、头孢曲松、头孢噻肟和头孢克肟存在显著耐药性。超过94%的分离株对环丙沙星敏感。各年龄组分离株的药敏情况相似。对第三代头孢菌素的显著耐药性使得这些药物不能用于我们人群中志贺氏菌病的经验性治疗。环丙沙星是一个合适的选择;然而,在开处方前应进行药敏试验。
