Abstract

A modified extraction procedure, suitable for the quick extraction of viral dsRNA from small quantities of intestinal contents, was developed. Of the 70 specimens positive for dsRNA viruses by genome electropherotyping with preparations derived by the standard extraction procedure, 56 (80%) were positive for virus with preparations derived by the modified procedure.
