Aggressive angiomyxoma is known as a mesenchymal tumor of premenopausal women and it is extremely rare in men.
Herein, we report a 66-year-old male with a firm scrotal mass that had gradually enlarged over 20 years.
Radiological studies revealed 10 x 15 cm mass lesion confined to right scrotum with neither local invasion nor distant metastasis. Inguinal orchiectomy was performed and histopathology showed characteristic features of an aggressive angiomyxoma occupying paratesticular region, which was a challenging diagnosis due to its unexpected occurrence in the male gender.
Aggressive angiomyxoma is mostly considered as a benign tumor in females despite its propensity for local recurrence. Whether it may show a divergent biological behavior in men is unknown as the reported cases are too few.
侵袭性血管黏液瘤是一种多见于绝经前女性的间叶性肿瘤，在男性中极为罕见。
在此，我们报告一名66岁男性，其阴囊有一质地坚硬的肿块，在20年里逐渐增大。
影像学检查显示，一个10×15厘米的肿块局限于右侧阴囊，无局部侵犯及远处转移。实施了腹股沟睾丸切除术，组织病理学显示为侵袭性血管黏液瘤的特征性表现，肿瘤占据睾丸旁区域，因其在男性中意外发生，故诊断颇具挑战性。
侵袭性血管黏液瘤尽管有局部复发倾向，但在女性中大多被视为良性肿瘤。由于报告的病例太少，其在男性中是否会表现出不同的生物学行为尚不清楚。
