Abstract

The effect of partial hepatectomy on the growth of enzyme-altered areas, induced in male albino Wistar rats by giving them diethylnitrosamine (DEN) in their drinking water, was studied. This was performed morphometrically by means of light microscopy and enzyme histochemistry. The results showed that the enzyme-altered areas increased significantly in size for two weeks following the partial hepatectomy but not thereafter. This finding suggested that DEN induced enzyme-altered areas can respond to a proliferative stimulus, but the response appeared transient.

研究了部分肝切除对雄性白化Wistar大鼠饮用含二乙基亚硝胺(DEN)的水后诱导产生的酶改变区域生长的影响。通过光学显微镜和酶组织化学进行形态计量学分析。结果显示,部分肝切除后两周内,酶改变区域的大小显著增加,但之后不再增加。这一发现表明,DEN诱导的酶改变区域能够对增殖刺激作出反应,但这种反应似乎是短暂的。
