Abstract
8 thalassaemic patients with complications due to pressure by heterotopic marrow on the spinal cord, the vertebral column, or the airways were given radiotherapy. Small doses of radiotherapy (10 to 26 Gy) relieved symptoms in all of them. 3 of the patients were followed-up radiographically. In 2 the mass of heterotopic marrow regressed completely and in the other partially.

8例因异位骨髓压迫脊髓、脊柱或气道而出现并发症的地中海贫血患者接受了放射治疗。小剂量放射治疗（10至26戈瑞）使所有患者的症状得到缓解。对其中3例患者进行了影像学随访。2例患者的异位骨髓肿块完全消退，另1例部分消退。
