Abstract
The aim of this investigation was to present new empirical evidence regarding the psychometric properties of the short-form UCLA Loneliness Scale (ULS-6) among Portuguese older people. The study included 1,154 persons (60 % women and 40 % men), aged 60-90 ( = 71.26; SD = 6.66). The psychometric properties of the ULS-6 were analysed by means of confirmatory factor analysis, internal consistency, and criterion-related validity methods. Confirmatory factor analysis supported a unidimensional structure of the measure with adequate values of various fit indices. The ULS-6 presented satisfactory psychometric properties, with a high level of internal consistency. Furthermore, the ULS-6 showed a negative relationship with self-esteem, satisfaction with life, and positive affect; and a positive one with negative affect. The results confirm that the ULS-6 provides a brief, psychometrically sound measure of loneliness that is appropriate for use among older adults.

本调查的目的是提供关于葡萄牙老年人中简版加州大学洛杉矶分校孤独感量表（ULS - 6）心理测量特性的新实证证据。该研究纳入了1154人（60%为女性，40%为男性），年龄在60 - 90岁之间（平均年龄 = 71.26；标准差 = 6.66）。通过验证性因素分析、内部一致性和效标关联效度方法对ULS - 6的心理测量特性进行了分析。验证性因素分析支持该量表具有单维结构，且各项拟合指标值合适。ULS - 6呈现出令人满意的心理测量特性，具有较高的内部一致性。此外，ULS - 6与自尊、生活满意度和积极情绪呈负相关；与消极情绪呈正相关。结果证实，ULS - 6提供了一种简短的、心理测量上合理的孤独感测量方法，适用于老年人。
