Abstract
The H1-blocking antihistamines pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, uses, toxicity and special precautions are presented. Newer agents may offer advantages of longer half-life and lower levels of sedation and motor impairment. Therapeutic considerations are listed with attention to sustained therapeutic efficacy.
