Management education needs of head nurses.

Today's head nurses must be skilled in the art of management in order to meet the needs of patients, unit staff, administrative staff, and the employing organization. More hospitals are recognizing the need to offer basic education programs that assist head nurses to develop necessary knowledge and skills. Based on a study of 41 head nurses, the author discusses findings and recommendations for planning education programs for head nurses.
