Abstract

Learning gestures and behaviors is essential for the students' and doctors' formation. However, teaching at the bedside can be an ethical problem. Simulation, allowing a first practical without risk for the patient, became inevitable. More or less complex, lots of models are available in simulation centers to permit repetition of gestures and also their implementation in the context of a more comprehensive care, possibly in crisis thus permiting acquisition of technical and non-technical skills. The medical simulation center PRESAGE (Platform Research and Teaching by simulation for learning attitudes and gestures) of Lille Medical schoolfrom Lille University is a beautiful example of the use of simulation as a complementary educational tool. The proposed training offers to all students and medecine doctors a personal development.
