To investigate the effect of the peer group education on the fear, anxiety and depression levels of the patients undergoing angiography.
In this clinical trial, 70 patients referred to Vali-E-Asr clinic of Fasa (Iran) for undergoing coronary angiography were selected by random sampling and divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group (n=35) received the necessary instructions about coronary angiography by those in a trained peer group (Two former patients, having experienced in the procedure), while in the control group (n=35) the routine instructions were presented by the department's nurses. The levels of fear, anxiety and depression of the patients were measured both before and after conducting this intervention.
The mean score of the patients' fear and anxiety after the intervention of the peers in the experimental group was reduced compared to that of the control group (p<0.05). But for the mean of the score of the depression test, no statistically significant differences were found between the two groups after the intervention.
The results of this study showed that utilizing the peer group education is effective for reducing the fear and anxiety of patients undergoing coronary angiography.
探讨同伴教育对接受血管造影术患者的恐惧、焦虑和抑郁水平的影响。
在这项临床试验中,通过随机抽样选择了70名转诊至伊朗法萨市瓦利 - 阿斯尔诊所接受冠状动脉造影的患者,并将其分为实验组和对照组。实验组(n = 35)由经过培训的同伴组(两名曾接受过该手术的患者)向其提供有关冠状动脉造影的必要指导,而对照组(n = 35)则由科室护士提供常规指导。在进行该干预前后,测量患者的恐惧、焦虑和抑郁水平。
与对照组相比,实验组同伴干预后患者的恐惧和焦虑平均得分降低(p < 0.05)。但对于抑郁测试得分的平均值,干预后两组之间未发现统计学上的显著差异。
本研究结果表明,采用同伴教育对降低接受冠状动脉造影术患者的恐惧和焦虑有效。
