Abstract

Ethical aspects towards the parenthood of mentally ill patients will be discussed in the German health care system. The offers new perspectives for solutions concerning the individual level. Structural and systemic problems require institutional and political configurations. The points the dimensions of autonomy, heteronomy, egoism, and public spirit. Reductions of psycho-social burden, an age-dependent differentiated prevention und early external assessment contribute to successful parenthood of mentally ill patients.
