[Varicella and pregnancy].

Two recent cases of varicella in pregnant women are reported. A fortuitous review of fetal and neonatal risks is made that serves as a guide to therapy: elective abortion if the infection occurs early on in pregnancy; diagnosis of congenital varicella if it occurs some time after delivery; avoidance of delivery two days before and five days following eruption of rash by reason of the high neonatal mortality.
