Strain 17bor-2, a gamma-resistant, pink-to-red-coloured, aerobic, catalase-positive, oxidase-negative and Gram-stain-negative bacterium, was isolated from gamma ray-irradiated soil. The isolate grew aerobically at 18-37 °C (optimum, 28-30 °C), pH 6.0-8.0 (pH 6.5-7.5) and in the presence of 0-1 % (w/v) NaCl (0 % NaCl). Phylogenetic analysis based on its 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated that strain 17bor-2 belonged to the genus Deinococcus with a highest sequence similarity of 96.4 % to Deinococcus alpinitundrae ME-04-04-52. The major fatty acids of the strain were summed feature 3 (C16 : 1ω7c and/or C16 : 1ω6c), C16 : 0 and cyclo C17 : 0. The only respiratory quinone was MK-8. The major polar lipids of the strain were phosphoglycolipid, aminophospholipid and an unknown glycolipid. The DNA G+C content of strain 17bor-2 was 62.8 mol%. On the basis of its phenotypic, genotypic and chemotaxonomic characteristics, strain 17bor-2 should be classified as a novel species in the genus Deinococcus, for which the name Deinococcusirradiatisoli sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is 17bor-2 (=KCTC 33907=NBRC 113037).
菌株17bor - 2是一种耐γ射线、呈粉红色至红色、需氧、过氧化氢酶阳性、氧化酶阴性且革兰氏染色阴性的细菌,从经γ射线辐照的土壤中分离得到。该分离株在18 - 37 °C(最适温度为28 - 30 °C)、pH 6.0 - 8.0(pH 6.5 - 7.5)以及0 - 1 %(w/v)NaCl(0 % NaCl)存在的条件下需氧生长。基于其16S rRNA基因序列的系统发育分析表明,菌株17bor - 2属于嗜放射球菌属,与高山嗜放射球菌ME - 04 - 04 - 52的序列相似性最高,为96.4 %。该菌株的主要脂肪酸为特征性总和3(C16 : 1ω7c和/或C16 : 1ω6c)、C16 : 0和环C17 : 0。唯一的呼吸醌为MK - 8。该菌株的主要极性脂为磷酸糖脂、氨基磷脂和一种未知糖脂。菌株17bor - 2的DNA G + C含量为62.8 mol%。基于其表型、基因型和化学分类学特征,菌株17bor - 2应被归类为嗜放射球菌属中的一个新物种,为此提出新名称嗜放射土壤球菌(Deinococcusirradiatisoli sp. nov.)。模式菌株为菌株17bor - 2(=KCTC 33907=NBRC 113037)。
