Abstract

Even so, diet, lifestyle, antibiotic consumption or the aging process will determine changes in its composition and, as a consequence, the possibility of suffering chronic non-communicable diseases. Currently, there is sufficient scientific evidence to strengthen the importance of diet for the establishment, structure and functional activity of the gut microbiota, as well as many studies that demonstrate the role of diet in certain diseases through its effects on microbial communities of the gut. Modulation of the gut microbiota through dietary intervention is an emerging therapeutic and preventive strategy for many conditions. Probiotics and prebiotics may also be effective for restoration of beneficial bacteria and microbiota diversity capable to shift from disease to health promoting states.

在生命的最初几个月里逐渐发展,当孩子大约两岁时达到成熟微生物群的状态。即便如此,饮食、生活方式、抗生素使用或衰老过程都会决定其组成的变化,进而影响患慢性非传染性疾病的可能性。目前,有足够的科学证据来强化饮食对肠道微生物群的建立、结构和功能活性的重要性,也有许多研究表明饮食通过对肠道微生物群落的影响在某些疾病中所起的作用。通过饮食干预调节肠道微生物群是针对多种病症的一种新兴治疗和预防策略。益生菌和益生元也可能有效地恢复有益细菌并使微生物群多样性从疾病状态转变为促进健康的状态。
