Psoriasis is a common chronic and immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease. This study aimed to investigate the serum levels of Chitinase-3-like protein 1 (YKL-40) in patients with psoriasis vulgaris before and after narrow-band ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy. This study was designed as a cross-sectional case-control. This study included 30 patients with psoriasis vulgaris and 20 healthy individuals. Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) score were used to evaluate the patients with psoriasis vulgaris before and after treatment. All patients were treated 2 times per week for 3 months with NB-UVB phototherapy. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to assess serum levels of YKL-40 of the healthy control subjects and psoriatic patients before and after treatment by NB-UVB phototherapy. The serum level of YKL-40 was significantly higher in patients with psoriasis vulgaris versus healthy control subjects ( value<.001). There were significant reductions in the serum levels of YKL-40 and PASI scores after 3 months of treatment with NB-UVB phototherapy in patients with psoriasis vulgaris ( value<.001). This study concluded that NB-UVB phototherapy for three months in patients with psoriasis vulgaris was an essential method for decreasing the serum levels of YKL-40 and PASI scores.
银屑病是一种常见的慢性免疫介导性炎症性皮肤病。本研究旨在探讨寻常型银屑病患者窄谱中波紫外线（NB-UVB）光疗前后血清几丁质酶 3 样蛋白 1（YKL-40）水平。本研究设计为横断面病例对照研究。本研究纳入 30 例寻常型银屑病患者和 20 名健康对照者。采用银屑病面积和严重程度指数（PASI）评分评估治疗前后寻常型银屑病患者的病情。所有患者均接受 NB-UVB 光疗，每周 2 次，共 3 个月。采用酶联免疫吸附试验（ELISA）检测 NB-UVB 光疗前后健康对照者和银屑病患者的血清 YKL-40 水平。寻常型银屑病患者的血清 YKL-40 水平明显高于健康对照组（ 值<0.001）。寻常型银屑病患者接受 NB-UVB 光疗 3 个月后，血清 YKL-40 水平和 PASI 评分均显著降低（ 值<0.001）。本研究得出结论，NB-UVB 光疗 3 个月是降低寻常型银屑病患者血清 YKL-40 水平和 PASI 评分的重要方法。
