Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder that affects approximately 1/3500 individuals. Various bone manifestations and peripheral nerves neoplastic lesions associated with NF1 are seen in the jaws. Several oral manifestations may occur in this disorder; therefore the dentist's knowledge and multidisciplinary management of these patients are extremely important. In the present article, we present the use of a high-power surgical laser to excise a neurofibroma in a patient with several intraoral manifestations associated with NF1. The use of diode laser (808 nm) for excision biopsy of tongue nodules showed no thermal damage to the tissue, allowing an adequate histopathological analysis of the neurofibroma.
1型神经纤维瘤病(NF1)是一种常染色体显性遗传病,约每3500人中就有1人患病。与NF1相关的各种骨骼表现和周围神经肿瘤性病变可见于颌骨。该疾病可能出现多种口腔表现;因此,牙医对这些患者的了解以及多学科管理极为重要。在本文中,我们展示了使用高功率外科激光切除一名患有多种与NF1相关口腔表现患者的神经纤维瘤的过程。使用二极管激光(808纳米)切除舌部结节进行活检时,未对组织造成热损伤,从而能够对神经纤维瘤进行充分的组织病理学分析。
