Abstract

To report a case of iatrogenic retinal detachment due to inadvertent globe penetration during posterior sub-Tenon injection A 65-year-old female was given posterior sub-Tenon injection of triamcinolone acetonide for pseudophakic cystoid macular oedema. The globe was inadvertently perforated with superior macula off retinal detachment. She underwent immediate pars plana vitrectomy but failed to regain significant vision improvement. According to the literature, retinal detachment as a complication of posterior sub-Tenon injection is rare. This complication may be prevented by adhering to the standard practice of injecting slowly avoiding any undue pressure.

报告一例因后Tenon囊下注射时意外眼球穿通导致的医源性视网膜脱离 一名65岁女性因人工晶状体眼黄斑囊样水肿接受后Tenon囊下注射曲安奈德。注射时意外导致眼球穿通，出现黄斑上方视网膜脱离。她立即接受了玻璃体切除术，但视力未能显著改善。根据文献，后Tenon囊下注射的并发症视网膜脱离很罕见。遵循缓慢注射、避免任何不当压力的标准操作可预防此并发症。
