Abstract

A new cadinane-type sesquiterpenoid, microporotriol (), together with four known compound, 5-methylresorcinol (), (22,24)-ergosta-4,6,8(14),22-tetraen-3-one (), (22,24)-ergosta-5,7,22-trien-3-ol (), (22,24)-5,8-epidioxy-ergosta-6,22-dien-3-ol (), were isolated from the fermentation broth of the wood decaying fungus HFG829. The structures of the compounds were established by extensive spectroscopic methods, including 1D & 2D NMR, along with HRMS spectroscopic analysis. The relative configuration of was confirmed by NMR calculation. Compound was evaluated for the cytotoxicity against five human cancer cell lines.
