Abstract

This study aims to describe the molecular mechanisms of carbapenem and colistin resistance in strains isolated from hospitalized patients in Lebanon. We report in this study the first description of producing carbapenem-resistant ST383, as well as the presence of two out of five isolates resistant to colistin due to mutations in the amino acid sequences of proteins (, , and ). Therefore, screening of such isolates may be effective in limiting the spread of these resistant microorganisms in hospitalized patients and within the community.

本研究旨在描述从黎巴嫩住院患者分离的菌株中碳青霉烯类和多粘菌素类耐药的分子机制。本研究首次报道了产生碳青霉烯类耐药 ST383 的情况,以及由于氨基酸序列突变导致五株分离株中有两株对多粘菌素类耐药(、、和)。因此,对这些分离株进行筛选可能有助于限制这些耐药微生物在住院患者和社区内的传播。
