Case report.
Congenital radioulnar synostosis (CRUS) is a rare malformation that causes the restriction of the rotational movements of the forearm, and it is common in congenital elbow anomalies.
The aim of this case report was to present the results of physiotherapy in a patient with CRUS who did not undergo surgery.
A 7-year-old male patient with CRUS began outpatient physical therapy. The child underwent a physiotherapy program for a total of 10 weeks in the presence of a physiotherapist, 2 days per week, and with a home schedule at other times. Observational posture assessment, range of motion measurements of the upper extremities, the Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test, finger and hand grip strength, and Canadian Occupational Performance Measure were used to evaluate the patient before and after the physiotherapy program.
An increase in Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test, Canadian Occupational Performance Measure, and grip strengths were found; however, there was no change in the range of motion values for our patient.
This report contains physiotherapy results of a patient with CRUS who did not undergo surgery. Further short- and long-term follow-up studies are needed to demonstrate the effects of physiotherapy on surgical and nonsurgical patients with CRUS.
Physiotherapy can be effective in the functional use of the upper extremities in patients with CRUS who do not undergo surgery; long-term follow-up would demonstrate whether functional changes are permanent over time.

先天性尺桡骨融合(CRUS)是一种罕见的畸形,会导致前臂旋转运动受限,常见于先天性肘畸形。
本病例报告的目的是介绍未接受手术的 CRUS 患者的物理治疗结果。
一名 7 岁男性 CRUS 患者开始接受门诊物理治疗。该患儿在物理治疗师的指导下,每周 2 天,每次 2 天,在家中完成了总共 10 周的物理治疗方案。采用观察性姿势评估、上肢活动范围测量、Jebsen-Taylor 手功能测试、手指和手部握力以及加拿大职业表现测量来评估患者在物理治疗前后的情况。
发现 Jebsen-Taylor 手功能测试、加拿大职业表现测量和握力均有所增加;然而,患者的活动范围值没有变化。
本报告包含了未接受手术的 CRUS 患者的物理治疗结果。需要进一步的短期和长期随访研究来证明物理治疗对接受手术和非手术治疗的 CRUS 患者的效果。
物理治疗对未接受手术的 CRUS 患者上肢功能的使用可能是有效的;长期随访将证明功能变化是否随时间推移而永久。
