Abstract

INTRODUCTION

Ayurveda considers, (cracked feet) as disease condition, under (minor diseases of skin). Cracked feet also known as heel fissures is a common foot problem characterized by yellowish color of the skin on the heel of the foot, hard skin growth, hardening and cracks in the feet associated with pain, bleeding or itching. Vaidya Manorama, Ayurvedic compendia, recommended oil as a remedy for . An open-labeled clinical trial has been conducted to evaluate the effect of -based formulation in .

MATERIALS AND METHODS

oil was prepared by mixing (Rock salt) 24 g; 300 ml latex of ( ); 4.8 l. of water, (mustard oil) 1.2 l. and further heating of oil, following classical guidelines of . For better acceptability, the medicated oil was then gradually mixed with "Aerosil," a thickener, for converting the mixture into gel form. Twenty-six patients, diagnosed with , were treated by applying 3 g (or as per requirement) of gel twice daily for 21 consecutive days.

RESULTS

Response to the treatment was recorded on a weekly basis and therapeutic effect was evaluated through symptomatic relief.

CONCLUSION

The study yielded statistically highly significant results in symptoms such as cracks associated with pain ( < 0.001), (dryness) ( < 0.001) and (itching) ( < 0.001).

引言

阿育吠陀医学将(足部干裂)视为一种疾病状态,属于(皮肤小病范畴)。足部干裂又称足跟皲裂,是一种常见的足部问题,其特征为足跟部皮肤发黄、硬皮增生、足部皮肤变硬并出现裂纹,伴有疼痛、出血或瘙痒。阿育吠陀医学典籍《吠陀医理精华》推荐用油剂来治疗(足部干裂)。已开展一项开放标签的临床试验,以评估基于(某种成分)的配方制剂在(治疗足部干裂方面)的效果。

材料与方法

油剂的制备方法是,按照阿育吠陀医学的经典指导原则,将24克(岩盐)、300毫升(某种植物)的乳胶、4.8升水、1.2升(芥子油)混合,然后进一步加热该油剂。为了提高接受度,随后将这种药用油剂逐渐与增稠剂“气相二氧化硅”混合,将混合物转化为凝胶形式。26名被诊断为(足部干裂)的患者接受治疗,每天两次涂抹3克(或根据需要)的(该凝胶制剂),连续涂抹21天。
