[Synthesis and biological activity of 5-phenyl-1,3,4-benzotriazepines. 14. The reactions of 2-thioxo-5-phenyl-1,3,4-benzotriazepines].

The interaction of 2-aminoethanol and 2-thioxo-5-phenyl-1,3,4-benzotriazepines in abs. dioxane under refluxing conditions was investigated. Depending on the substitution of the triazepine ring several products are formed. The S-N-exchange to form the corresponding 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-amino derivatives only takes place if the nitrogen atoms of the heterocycle are unsubstituted.
