[Possibilities of drug-induced prevention of thrombosis with special reference to pre-, per- and postoperative time of treatment].

According to the postoperative prophylaxis of thromboembolia a review of actual publications is given. The therapeutical problems of Coumarin, Dextran, Acetylsalicylic acid and low dosis Heparin were discussed. A final answer to the various questions can not be given. Concerning the prophylaxis low dosis Heparin seems to become the anticoagulant of choice.
