Abstract

• Intracardiac masses often pose a diagnostic challenge. • Misdiagnosing thrombi as tumors is of particular significance. • None of the imaging modalities used for intracardiac masses are fail-proof. • Contrast echocardiography is valuable but not without limitations. • Differentiating thrombi from myxomas in procoagulant conditions is difficult.
