Abstract

Acupuncture, originally described as part of Chinese medical practice thousands of years ago, has become increasingly popular as a form of complementary medicine. This article highlights the current evidence for and against the use of acupuncture in the treatment of various rehabilitation diagnoses. This article also describes the historical aspects and basic principles of acupuncture.
