Abstract

We report a 12-year-old diabetic boy with a right-sided parapneumonic effusion and pneumonia who failed initial empirical antibiotics. was identified from the pleural fluid using next-generation sequencing-based clinical metagenomics with cultures of pleural fluid and blood resulting negative. The patient responded well to intravenous meropenem followed by oral metronidazole.

摘要

我们报告了一名12岁的糖尿病男孩,他患有右侧肺炎旁胸腔积液和肺炎,初始经验性抗生素治疗失败。通过基于下一代测序的临床宏基因组学从胸腔积液中鉴定出病原体,而胸腔积液和血液培养结果均为阴性。患者静脉注射美罗培南后改用口服甲硝唑,治疗效果良好。
