Aim of this study is to investigate effectiveness of the monocyte to HDL cholesterol ratio in patients diagnosed with pulmonary embolism for predicting intra-hospital mortality.
A total of 269 patients diagnosed with pulmonary embolism in the emergency clinic were included in the study. Study was conducted retrospectively. Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index (PESI), Monocyte count and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) values were determined. MHR values of the patients were calculated. SPSS 26 package program was used to investigate the effectiveness of MHR in predicting mortality.
Mean age of the patients was 64.51 ± 12.4 years. PESI, Number of monocytes and MHR were significantly higher in the group with mortality than the group without mortality (p < .05). HDL values were significantly lower (p < .05) in mortality group. Sensitivity of MHR 19 cut off value was 89.3%, and its specificity was 82.0%.
Use of predictors for mortality estimation in patients diagnosed with acute pulmonary embolism is important for faster administration of treatment modalities. We think MHR values can be used as a strong predictor according to the hemogram parameters and biochemical results.
本研究旨在探讨单核细胞与高密度脂蛋白胆固醇比值在诊断为肺栓塞的患者中预测院内死亡率的有效性。
本研究共纳入 269 例在急诊科诊断为肺栓塞的患者。研究采用回顾性研究方法。测定肺栓塞严重指数(PESI)、单核细胞计数和高密度脂蛋白胆固醇(HDL)值。计算患者的 MHR 值。使用 SPSS 26 包程序探讨 MHR 预测死亡率的有效性。
患者的平均年龄为 64.51±12.4 岁。死亡率组的 PESI、单核细胞数和 MHR 均显著高于无死亡率组(p<.05)。死亡率组的 HDL 值显著降低(p<.05)。MHR 19 截断值的敏感性为 89.3%,特异性为 82.0%。
在诊断为急性肺栓塞的患者中使用死亡率预测指标对于更快地实施治疗方法非常重要。我们认为,根据血常规参数和生化结果,MHR 值可以作为一个强有力的预测指标。
